Job Title: Building Services Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Building Services Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and specifying mechanical services, promoting design excellence, and leading on decarbonisation strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare outline briefs, performance specifications, and attend design reviews
  • Approve technical drawings, review and approve derogations from employers' requirements, and carry out value engineering reviews of external consultant's designs
  • Deliver sustainable solutions that contribute to our Net Zero road map and lead on decarbonisation strategies
  • Assume ownership of the suite of MBDA Building Design Guides and be responsible for review and updating on a periodic basis
  • Assist the wider MBDA Estates team with Pre-Acquisition Surveys, TDD (Technical Due Diligence), Condition Surveys, and Dilapidation Surveys
Requirements:
  • Qualified Design Engineer - Chartered/MCIBSE status or working towards
  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering design within the building services industry
  • Ability to write technical reports (RIBA 0-2, feasibility, issue investigation, condition/dilap surveys)
  • Experience creating outline briefs, scope of works, and performance specifications for planned maintenance and lifecycle works packages
  • Experience of working with digital engineering tools, such as CAD/Revit, and delivering projects in a BIM environment
  • Experience with new build, refurbishment, and fit-out projects
