Job Summary

Burlington Primary Care is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Salaried General Practitioner to join our dynamic team in Ipswich. As a key member of our practice, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our innovative healthcare model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness, developing personalized care plans in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
  • Provide counseling and health education, ensuring patients receive the support they need to manage their health effectively.
  • Admit or discharge patients to and from the caseload, referring to other care providers as necessary.
  • Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards, collecting data for audit purposes.
  • Ensure and undertake the annual mandatory training relevant to the job role, staying up-to-date with the latest medical knowledge and best practices.
  • Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions, prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.

Person Specification

  • Fully qualified GP with GMC registration, annual appraisal, and revalidation (when appropriate).
  • General practice (Vocational Training Scheme) trained, on a medical performers list, and with an Enhanced DBS check.
  • UK driving license, current CPR certificate, and UK work permit (if required).
  • Medical defence union cover, chronic disease management, primary prevention & screening services, clinical governance, delivery of QoF targets, self-audit, and reflection.
  • Organized and efficient in record keeping and completion of paperwork, with time management skills and the ability to prioritize work and work under pressure.
