Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support to expectant and new parents, utilizing a range of communication channels including phone, video conferencing, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Develop and lead infant feeding groups in children's centres, fostering a supportive environment for parents to share experiences and learn from one another.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for families.
  • Conduct assessments and provide guidance on breastfeeding and other infant feeding methods, ensuring parents have the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions.

Requirements

  • Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse groups of people.
  • Knowledge of breastfeeding and infant feeding practices, with a minimum of peer supporter level expertise.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the service.
  • Enhanced DBS check required.
