About the Role

An Alternative Provision school based in New Milton seeks a Behaviour Support Assistant to start ASAP. The school caters for secondary aged pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as challenging behaviour.

The successful SEMH Support Assistant will work 1-1 or in small classes, assisting pupils academically and overcoming barriers to learning and supporting them emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pupils with their academic work
  • Support pupils to overcome barriers to learning
  • Provide emotional support to pupils

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of working with secondary school aged children
  • Experience of working with pupils with SEND/SEMH/challenging behaviour
  • A passion for the progress of pupils
  • An ability to work as part of a team
