Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Homecare Phlebotomist to join our team in Oxfordshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing phlebotomy care to patients who are housebound, working closely with the Central District Nursing Service.
About the Role:
The Homecare Phlebotomist will provide high-quality phlebotomy services to patients in their own homes, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience. The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work autonomously, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- To prepare patients, verify their identity, and obtain consent for blood sample collection
- To collect blood samples from patients, adhering to strict safety protocols and minimizing discomfort or pain
- To dispose of needles and medical waste safely, following the Trust's Sharps Policy
- To ensure accurate labelling and transportation of samples for analysis
- To maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to data protection guidelines
Requirements:
- A good standard of written and verbal English
- Basic IT skills and awareness of patient confidentiality
- Ability to communicate effectively with older adults
- Previous experience in dealing with the public and community care settings is desirable
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this position is approximately £25,500-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
