Job Summary:

ArcelorMittal South Africa Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Planner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the planning office, utilizing CMMS computer software and other applications to support maintenance functions, and developing work plans for maintenance jobs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning office and ensure effective planning and coordination of maintenance activities
  • Utilize CMMS computer software and other applications to support maintenance functions, including job scheduling, assignment, and execution
  • Develop work plans for maintenance jobs, including necessary information for efficient scheduling and execution
  • Create, use, and maintain plant history and technical files to anticipate and avoid job delays
  • Perform purchasing duties as required and stage materials and special tools as needed
  • Evaluate job feedback to improve future work and provide technical assistance to maintenance personnel
  • Prepare reports as required and control cost expenditure using SAP and PowerBI
  • Sub-store control inventory control, including spares, PPE, and other materials
  • Train and develop maintenance personnel and work overtime and standby duty as required
Requirements:
  • National Diploma (NQF 6/10) in Engineering
  • Preferably a Structured Junior Management Development Program
  • Computer literate with application of SAP, Microsoft Office, MS Projects, and PIVOT
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment in the maintenance of Coating Plants
  • Knowledge of safety hazards and appropriate precautions applicable to work assignments
  • Able to apply technical knowledge to determine equipment problems and appropriate solutions
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal form
  • Able to maintain effective working relationships with other personnel
  • Able to read, interpret, and apply information from files, drawings, catalogues, reports, and manuals
  • Able to wear all PPE and execute all physical duties within the office and on the plant
  • Must have a valid driver's license
