About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Lead Data Scientist to join our Jet2 Data Science team. As a key member of our team, you will be empowered to lead the delivery of key data science initiatives capable of realizing significant value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of data science initiatives, combining insights gained from multiple large data sources with the contextual understanding and experience of our colleagues across the business.
  • Work with internal teams across the business to identify, collaborate with, and enthuse stakeholders across the wider group.
  • Line manage and coach data scientists, taking responsibility for and championing our ways of working.
  • Execute the application of machine learning and statistical modelling tools suited to the identified initiative.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and internal policy requirements.
Requirements
  • Strong expertise in Python, with experience in leading data science initiatives from concept into production and quantifying realized value.
  • Strong SQL skills, with exposure to Snowflake desirable, and the ability to create clear data visualizations in tools such as Tableau.
  • Highly numerate with a statistical background, and an appreciation of the importance of data governance.
  • Ability to gather data from multiple sources, cleanse and enrich that data, and assess and enhance the quality of our data.
  • Commitment to keeping knowledge up to date through self-learning, and a willingness to complete relevant courses, attend industry events, and obtain technical certifications.
About Us

Jet2 and Jet2holidays are looking to add an experienced and enthusiastic Lead Data Scientist to our Jet2 Data Science team. You'll be joining an established team of 30 Data Science professionals based across our UK and India bases, who are using Data Science to understand, automate and optimize key business processes.

Our team works right across the broad range of our customer journey: from informing our marketing strategy, pricing our products, understanding our customers and their needs before, during and post their experience, and improving our airline and holiday operations.
