We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our Independent Living team in Essex. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing person-centred support to deaf and deafblind individuals, enabling them to develop the skills needed to live independently.
About the Role- Provide one-to-one and group support to deaf and deafblind individuals, using British Sign Language (BSL) or specialist communication systems like Makaton.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement person-centred support plans.
- Support individuals to access community resources and services, promoting independence and empowerment.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive team environment, prioritizing colleague wellbeing and supporting each other to achieve great outcomes.
- BSL Level 1 is essential for this role, with Level 2 desirable. We will offer training as part of the role where required.
- Valid car owner/driver license.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
