Job Summary:
As a Quantity Surveyor at Bloor Homes - Commercial, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our projects. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the full spectrum of costs on-site, working closely with our team to deliver quality homes at an affordable price.

Bloor Homes is a large, family-run company that takes pride in a job well done. We are recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Exeter Regional Office, where you will have the autonomy to make decisions and contribute to the company's growth.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing sub-contract/supplier enquiry lists for approval
- Prepare full enquiry packs, collate tender information, and ensure compliant tender packs are issued
- Prepare tender comparison sheets, including making recommendations for placing subcontract orders and negotiation with sub-contractors
- Prepare detailed breakdowns of build costs, including infrastructure costings and updating New Site Start Appraisal (NSSA)
- Ensure new sub-contractors are on the SMAS database and certification is up to date
- Carry out drawing take-offs, produce labour only rates in liaison with Senior Surveyor, Commercial Manager, and Construction Department
- Update/produce SWMP plan and Carriers Matrix, including updating Licence Numbers and expiry dates and issuing to site as necessary
- Analyse, check, and prepare interim payments for sub-contractor weekly and monthly applications
- Issue variation instructions and contra charges as appropriate
- Price non-standard client extras and liaise with Commercial Manager and Construction Department to ensure costings are correct
- Update Cost of Sales in Viability Manager for client extras after re-budgets and valuations
- Carry out monthly progress checklists for all sites and inputting on to valuation system including MOS
- Attend Valuation Meeting and produce Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) and Cost to Complete Sheet (CTC)

Requirements:
- Hold a Full UK Driving Licence
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or relevant field
- Experience in building construction in a quantity surveying or project managing role
- Good negotiating skills, excellent time management skills, and computer literacy
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
