**Seeking a Molecular Biology Researcher**

We are looking for a highly skilled Molecular Biology Researcher to join our team at MPOWIR Mentoring Physical Oceanography Women to Increase Retention. The successful candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology and a passion for oceanographic research.

The researcher will be responsible for conducting research in molecular biology and its applications to oceanography, including the study of biogeochemical cycles, microbial ecology, and phytoplankton/zooplankton ecology and physiology. The researcher will also be expected to build a strong research program, complementary to and synergistic with a broad range of oceanographic research at MPOWIR.

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. or equivalent experience in molecular biology or a related field and a strong track record of research productivity. Familiarity with the U.S. federal agency funding system is desirable. Although primarily a research position, opportunities exist for teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate level.

MPOWIR is a US 501(c)(3) not-for-profit marine research and education institution dedicated to mentoring physical oceanography women to increase retention. Our scientific activities are wide-ranging and include oceanographic and atmospheric time-series studies, coral reef research, and ocean and human health interactions.
