Role Overview

We are seeking a Graduate Town Planner to join our client within their leading urban planning consultancy in London.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting senior planners in developing and implementing comprehensive plans for urban development. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting research on zoning regulations, land use policies, and environmental impact assessments to inform planning decisions.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create and review development proposals that balance economic, social, and environmental considerations.
  • Engaging with local communities to gather insights and address concerns, ensuring that development proposals meet community needs and expectations.
  • Analysing data and preparing reports for planning applications, including conducting environmental impact assessments and presenting findings to stakeholders.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to conduct thorough research and present findings effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience working with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Familiarity with GIS software and other planning tools, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to a collaborative team environment, with a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
