Kitchen Assistant

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated individual to support our kitchen team in producing high-quality meals for our residents. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will work closely with our chefs to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting production in all areas of the kitchen
- Adhering to the HACCP procedure according to Athena's Food Safety Management Documentation
- Maintaining the kitchen hygiene and supporting with opening/closing down procedures
- Producing sandwiches, cakes, and buffet items with the guidance of the duty chef
- Supporting chefs to ensure minimum wastage
- Actively participating in discussions with the kitchen team to improve the service
- Understanding the function of due diligence paperwork and recording food, freezer, and fridge temperatures

Experience
For this role, it is preferable that you have:
- Experience in a similar hospitality role for a minimum of 2 years
- Knowledge of service delivery standards
- An understanding of the individual needs of residents and nutrition
