We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Pharmacist to join our Aseptic Technical Services team at Royal Blackburn Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective and efficient quality assurance of unlicensed aseptic products and providing support for the specialised chemotherapy clinical service.
About the RoleThe Technical Service operates under the section 10 exemption of the Medicine Act 1968 (as referenced in The Human Medicines Regulations 2012) and complies with the standards of the Quality Assurance of Aseptic Preparation services QAAPs. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our team to develop a complex part of our pharmacy service and contribute to the expansion of our service towards a Specials Manufacturing Licence.
Key Responsibilities- Act as "Authorising Pharmacist" under section 10 exemption
- Adhere to the overarching Pharmaceutical Quality Management System (PQS) for Technical Services
- Provide leadership with regards to all operational quality aspects
- Provide a Specialist Oncology Service
- Support the Principal Pharmacist in building and maintaining a robust Quality Management System (QMS)

As a Specialist Pharmacist, you will be instrumental in helping to inform and shape aseptic services for the Trust and across the ICS in the advent of future hub and spoke models, ensuring that quality assurance and patient safety will be at the heart of everything we do.

- Experience in writing and developing SOP

- Understanding of local and national NHS and Pharmaceutical Policy
