We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Lead PHP Software Engineer to join our team at Digital Appointments in Birmingham.
This is a hybrid role with around 2 days a week in the office, so the successful candidate must live within commuting distance of Birmingham.
The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of strong PHP development experience, with a deep understanding of Laravel and AWS DevOps.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex PHP software solutions.
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from planning to deployment and maintenance.
- Develop and maintain robust, scalable applications using PHP (Laravel) and AWS DevOps.
- Implement best practices in coding, testing, and deployment to ensure high-quality software solutions.
- Manage system performance and security, implementing solutions to improve both.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continually enhance software capabilities.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience: At least 6 years of strong PHP development experience, with a deep understanding of Laravel and AWS DevOps.
- Skills: Proficient in PHP, Laravel, MySQL, AWS, and DevOps practices. Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and system scalability.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Location: Must live within commuting distance of Birmingham for hybrid working (2 days a week in the office).
