The Job

We are seeking a skilled Management Accountant to join our team at our Carlisle Head Office. As a key member of our financial team, you will be responsible for producing accurate and timely management accounts and other financial information to support our business operations.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Assist with the planning, coordination, and timely submission of accurate statutory and management reporting and accounting in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
  2. Prepare monthly management accounts and accompanying balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy while adhering to reporting timescales.
  3. Play a key role in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure our financial processes are efficient, streamlined, and maintain integrity.
  4. Assist with the preparation of annual budgets.
  5. Acknowledge an ethos of continuous improvement across all financial processes and controls.
  6. Support the business in any process and system development.
  7. Collaborate with external auditors and other third parties in respect of regulatory compliance.
  8. Adhere to Company and Group policies and procedures, including those relating to Safety, Health, and Environmental.
  9. Ensure all relevant legislation and approved codes of practice are adhered to in respect of ongoing compliance.
Requirements
  • Studying towards or part-qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA).
  • Previous experience in a finance function, ideally in a similar role.
  • High proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft office products.
  • Experience of using accounting software. Experience of an ERP system is desirable.
  • Effective team player.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders at all levels.
  • Flexible approach with the ability to multitask and effectively prioritize workloads.
  • A positive attitude towards improvement and change.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
