About the Role:

Captec is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our Technical Services Team in Fareham. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing small to medium-sized products for various sectors, including marine, defence, energy, healthcare, and transport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical design solutions for specific project requirements
  • Prepare and present design reviews, prototype builds, and support design verification testing
  • Collaborate and support NPI engineers with knowledge transfer relating to electrical designs for design transfer to production
  • Engage with suppliers to ensure transfer of knowledge and best practice in the implementation and use of their products or components

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related qualification
  • Significant experience in an engineering department working on the design of electrical aspects of multiple projects of moderate and major size
  • Experience in design for manufacture and testing, simulation, prototyping, experimentation, analysis, and interpretation of test data
  • Experience with electrical drawing software, preferably SolidWorks Electrical or similar
  • Experience of working on military or aerospace projects, or other highly regulated industries
  • Experience of working to and auditing against electrical and safety standards
  • Ability to present specific aspects of engineering assignments at project meetings and reviews
  • EMC and regulatory requirements (CE/UKCA)
  • Computer infrastructure and interfaces
