About the Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Solutions Specialist to join our dedicated front-line support team. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with customers to provide technical support, advice, system fixes, and enhancements for installed Siemens Vehicle Equipment Measurements Systems in the UK.

This is a hybrid role that includes working from home, offices in Chippenham and Derby, and customer sites across the UK. You will receive all necessary tools, vehicles, PPE, support, and training to perform your duties safely and to a high standard.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • 1st and 2nd line fault investigation to resolve incidents as they occur.
  • Travelling to depot locations will take up a substantial part of your time, so you must be comfortable with regular travel and staying away from home.
  • Log analysis for fault and incident investigations and subsequent reporting of findings.
  • Investigating and responding to formal Technical Questions from the client.
  • Look for opportunities to bring more value to our customers.
  • System health status checks.
  • Occasionally supporting with new installations.

Your Success Factors

  • 1st line corrective maintenance experience in rail signalling, measuring, or similar assets in safety-critical environments.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with customers and Siemens teams.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with various levels of technical staff and customers.
  • Ability to learn new skills, work independently, and within a team.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Good IT literacy.
  • Valid Category B Driver's License.
  • Ability to follow safe manual handling procedures and site safety protocols.
