Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Biopharmaceutical Downstream Process Specialist to join our team in Lincoln, NE. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of downstream bioprocesses for the production of high-quality biopharmaceuticals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, qualify, operate, maintain, and improve downstream bioprocesses and equipment to support day-to-day manufacturing activities and process improvement projects.
- Provide technical support for complex equipment and biological and biopharmaceutical processes, including chromatographic and filtration processes for purifying proteins.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, equipment engineering, research and development, and process scientists to produce clinical supply and work towards commercial facility licensure.
- Develop, organize, analyze, and present interpretation of results for operational issues of significant scope and complexity.
- Conduct process monitoring and provide technical troubleshooting using sophisticated digital tools (PAT) to identify and implement process improvements that lead to yield and capacity improvements.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Biochemistry, Biology, or Biochemical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of downstream process development experience related to biochemical engineering and/or protein biochemistry, scale-up principles, and manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals (cGMP).
- Background in biological tech transfer into commercial facilities, in-depth knowledge of cell culture and purification processes/equipment, and demonstrated leadership skills and decision-making experience.
- Strong academic and applied experience in science and/or engineering, troubleshooting, and problem-solving, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
