Job Title: Precision Automated Manufacturing Expert

This permanent position at KLA's state-of-the-art facility in Newport, South Wales offers the opportunity to work with complex processing equipment and develop precision automated manufacturing skills.

Daily Responsibilities:
  • Operate fixturing/tooling or hand-held electronic equipment to test cable assembly or electronic assembly boxes.
  • Perform manual soldering of small electronic components onto printed circuit boards.
  • Conduct visual inspections using a microscope (20x magnification) for dies, resistors, and capacitors.
  • Identify root causes and create correction plans for equipment/material/process issues.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering teams to resolve product issues.
  • Handle or attach small components using tweezers and in-house build fixtures.
  • Perform quality control checks on raw parts.
  • Handle dilute chemical solutions to clean products.
  • Perform functional tests on products.
Requirements:
  • Hold a HNC/HND qualification in Electrical, Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Have experience in electronic assembly, PCB assembly, and soldering (ideally).
  • Develop strong analytical and fault-finding skills.
  • Utilize electrical and mechanical schematics to rectify faults and defects.
  • Familiarity with operating fixturing/tooling or hand-held electronic equipment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
  • Experience in a manufacturing and/or shop-floor environment (clean room experience desirable).
  • Familiarity with handling wafers/substrates.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products.
