Job Purpose

As a key member of the Synchro team, you will play a crucial role in the commercial and contractual management of a portfolio of telecoms projects. This will include new builds, city enhancements, government contracts, and field service frameworks. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that operations and service delivery comply with contract terms and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Resource Management: Manage the commercial resources of your assigned projects, from planned expenditure through to contract control.
  • Project Variations: Support the authorization and submission of project variations, ensuring that all changes are properly documented and approved.
  • Risk Mitigation: Assess, review, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks, providing recommendations to minimize potential losses.
  • Expertise Provision: Provide commercial and contractual expertise, including valuation certification, correspondence, claims, budget monitoring, and performance data.
  • Cost and Value Data: Provide accurate cost and value data at both project and regional levels, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Team Development: Coach, develop, and mentor junior team members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Commercial Management: Proven experience in senior commercial management and contractor procurement, with a working knowledge of NEC3 ECC forms.
  • Industry Background: A background in telecoms, civil engineering, or utilities is highly desirable.
  • Negotiation Skills: Effective negotiation with suppliers and partners, finding alternate solutions and resolving issues within contractual terms.
  • Project Oversight: Experience overseeing large capital expenditure projects, ensuring timely completion and within budget.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to use data for financial reporting with actionable insights and strategic focus.
  • Educational Qualification: HNC/HND level education, or equivalent.
