About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of VAT professionals at RSM, working on a hybrid basis and contributing to the growth of the firm. The role involves managing a group of clients and the firm, ensuring the agreed expectations in terms of service, quality, and cost are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and advise on VAT planning opportunities and undertake specialist technical assignments as required.
  • Help the business grow its existing portfolio of work by leveraging existing relationships within the firm and spearheading marketing campaigns.
  • Act as the principal point of contact to clients on VAT queries and maintain excellent client service at all times.
  • Identify, interview, and convert prospective clients, as well as assist other departments in the research and preparation of formal proposals for new work.
  • Closely monitor work in progress reports to ensure the profitable recoverability of work done and bill clients on a timely basis.
  • Take an active involvement in prospective client seminars and effectively follow up with contacts made.
  • Assist in review and quality control procedures and the administration of the department where required.
  • Attend staff meetings and training as required.
  • Maintain an awareness and observation of Health and Safety issues within the firm and report any concerns to the Health and Safety Representative.
About the Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working at Senior Manager or Associate Director level within VAT, with strong client management and business development skills. You will be confident in delivering advisory work and have a desire to develop junior members of staff and facilitate a great team environment.

  • Be commercially aware with the ability to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Be communicative with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships.
  • Be able to work independently as well as part of a local team and national service line.
