An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Urgent and Emergency Care Centre for a committed, enthusiastic, and motivated Clinical Support Worker to work alongside our team on Ward 12.
You will be required to assist qualified nursing staff in providing direct patient care, to enable a seamless assessment process at front of house.

Main Duties of the Job
- To assist in admitting patients to the ward, completing demographic details, and recording baseline observations.
- To provide care to patients following instructions in the care plan, programme, or pathway.
- To demonstrate competence in the accurate recording of routine clinical observations.
- To recognise abnormal recordings or signs of change in a patient's condition and report changes to a registered nurse.
- To assess patients' level of dependence in meeting personal care needs and give appropriate assistance (includes hygiene, mobility, nutrition, elimination, and comfort).
- To assist patients to eat and drink in a sensitive and supportive manner.
- To accurately record information on patient food charts and fluid balance charts, reporting concerns to a registered nurse.
- To carry out clinical skills relevant to the ward/department and patient group (e.g. phlebotomy, ECG recording, simple dressings).
- To assist clinical teams with data entry, filing, and maintaining accurate documentation of care.
- To assist in escorting, transferring, and discharging patients, ensuring all property is packed and the bed area is prepared for the next patient.
- To ensure treatment rooms and ward areas are adequately stocked and tidy.
- To participate in clinical supervision.
- To assist in resolving conflict by responding to concerns and complaints in a positive manner.

- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills. Ability to adopt appropriate styles and methods of communication.
- Basic IT skills to use electronic patient records and other Trust systems to update basic patient information from personal care and associated activity.
- Time-keeping, planning, and prioritisation skills.
Qualifications
Essential Criteria
- Must complete the care certificate within the 6 months probationary period and on-the-job training; instruction will be provided. This is an NHS entry-level requirement.
