Maintenance Team Leader Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Team Leader to join our team at GPW Recruitment. As a Maintenance Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our client's manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure safe systems of work are in place and maintained to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Provide training, instruction, and supervision to maintenance team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and effectively.
  • Enforce Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) regulations and ensure all team members are aware of and comply with them.
  • Manage contractors and ensure they are properly inducted, RAMS submissions are completed, and Permit to Work Systems are in place.
  • Ensure spillage teams and Emergency Fire teams are on standby when necessary.
  • Regularly inspect and test lifting equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
  • Ensure all electrical equipment is safe and regularly tested.
  • Plan and schedule routine maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure production schedules are met.
  • Conduct regular calibration of essential equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly.
  • Attend call-out calls made by management for repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure all tools, plant, and equipment are properly maintained and compliant with safety standards.
  • Test fire call points on a weekly basis and record the results.
  • Contribute to the development and review of Risk Assessments and House Rules.
  • Set departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and monitor performance, including conducting regular 1-2-1 reviews.
  • Train and develop apprentices and trainees in the department.
Requirements:
  • HNC/ONC qualification in a relevant field.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar maintenance role.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • IT literacy and proficiency in computer skills.
  • Knowledge of legislative requirements and maintenance standards.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary of £26.94 per hour (£47,634.76 per annum).
  • A 34-hour working week, Monday to Thursday and Fridays.
  • A range of benefits, including pension contributions, long service holiday award, health cash plan, death in service, free parking, free LV charging points, free Wi-Fi, and 33 days' holiday per year.
