The Role:

We are seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to support students with SEND in our partner schools in East London. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development, working closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored lessons for students with SEND.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) under the guidance of teachers, ensuring that students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Support the social and emotional development of students, helping them to build positive relationships and develop essential life skills.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment, ensuring that students feel safe and supported.
  • Prepare and organise learning materials and resources, ensuring that students have access to the tools they need to succeed.
  • Monitor and record student progress, reporting to teachers and providing valuable insights into student development.
  • Support students during school activities, outings, and events, helping them to develop important social skills and build relationships with their peers.
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and external agencies to support student needs, ensuring that students receive the comprehensive support they require.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of SEND practices, including strategies for supporting students with a range of needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude, with a commitment to supporting students with SEND.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the school and students.
