The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join our client's supportive team in Preston. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking Autism diagnostic assessments.

Services are mostly delivered within Family Hubs, home visits, and educational settings, often involving collaboration with parents, carers, and the Multi-agency team. The role involves supporting assessment and interventions for children, including writing reports that follow the DSM5, and supporting decisions as part of the Multi-disciplinary team.

A key aspect of this position is working closely with the Multi-agency team to support a decision-making process for children undergoing diagnostic assessments. This requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a team effort.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake assessments for children on the Autistic diagnostic assessment pathway
  • Write reports that follow the DSM5
  • Support decisions as part of the Multi-disciplinary team
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and the Multi-agency team
Requirements:
  • Qualified/Registered Speech and Language Therapist with 2 or more years experience
  • Trained in ADOS/ADR-I etc.
  • Experience in report writing and record keeping
  • Ability to work without direct supervision and hold responsibility for own caseload and a defined area of the service
