About the Role

This key position will support the Head of Business Control and Deputy Director of Finance in providing high-quality strategic financial management and customer-focused financial support for the health board's directorates. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering robust financial monitoring, forecasting, and planning while ensuring efficient, effective, and consistent processes across all areas.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with the ability to interpret and explain financial concepts and information to non-financial managers, are essential. Welsh language proficiency is desirable, but not required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing business cases that drive strategic growth and improvement
  • Leading the development of annual, medium, and long-term financial strategies
  • Delivering financial turnaround initiatives and maintaining strong relationships with senior service leads
  • Maintaining expertise in multiple disciplines, including workforce and service planning
Requirements
  • Master's degree level or equivalent experience in a related field
  • CCAB Qualified Accountant with further specialist knowledge training and experience
  • Demonstrable track record of career advancement and achievement
  • Excellent continuous professional development and networking skills
