Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Reliability, Maintainability and Testability (RMT) Engineering Lead to join our team at BAE Systems. As an RMT Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining frameworks, plans, processes, and engineering approaches required on complex projects to undertake RMT engineering and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain RMT frameworks, plans, processes, and engineering approaches on complex projects.
  • Manage relationships between engineering capability teams and engineering central functions to influence current and longer-term skills, processes, and tools needed for RMT engineering.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) representing the Supportability Engineering team at broader technical reviews, integration activities, and planning events.
  • Provide technical RMT engineering guidance, advice, mentoring, and support to junior or less experienced engineers in the team.
  • Undertake RMT analysis and engineering tasks to influence the design and future sustainment of platforms and systems to ensure they are inherently supportable in their intended use within the constraints of the operation and environment.
  • Ensure alignment between RMT engineering, safety engineering, and human factors engineering in RMT analysis activities.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering field or demonstrable professional experience working in a relevant engineering role.
  • Detailed knowledge of the principles of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Testability.
  • Experience of applying at least several of the following RMT engineering tools, techniques, and approaches on complex programmes: Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), RMT Allocation, Prediction, and Modelling of complex systems, and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
  • Knowledge and experience in applying international and/or military standards and specifications relevant to RMT engineering.
  • Good IT skills, including MS Office and experience working with digital engineering tools.
