Vacancy Overview

We are seeking a dedicated CME/FAP Officer to join our Education Services team at West Berkshire Council.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the effective management of children missing education and those at risk of becoming missing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough investigations and assessments to determine the educational status of children
  • Developing and implementing intervention plans to support children's educational engagement
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to schools, parents, and carers on attendance and welfare matters
  • Collaborating with external partners to promote the welfare and safeguarding of children

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Education Act 1996 and Children Act 1989
  • Experience in education welfare, with knowledge of attendance monitoring and intervention strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
