Vision for Education is a leading education recruitment and supply agency committed to the learning and development of young people. We are seeking a highly skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team in Blackburn and Darwen.

This role involves supporting teachers with lesson planning, delivery, and assessment, as well as working closely with other support staff to develop individualized education plans and implement strategies to promote student progress. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and be passionate about creating a positive learning environment.

About the Role:

* Work closely with teachers to deliver high-quality lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEMH learning needs.
* Assist with adapting teaching methods and resources to accommodate individual learning styles and abilities.
* Develop and maintain a supportive and nurturing classroom environment that promotes academic progress, emotional well-being, and positive behavior.
* Collaborate with other teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff to develop individualised Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and implement strategies for student progress.
* Regularly assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
* Establish strong communication channels with parents, guardians, and external professionals involved in the care and education of students with SEND.

Requirements:

* A Level 4 HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in teaching students with SEND.
* Specialisation or experience in teaching students with SEMH learning needs.
* Strong knowledge of different teaching strategies, interventions, and resources for SEND students.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with SEND.
* Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students in an ever-changing educational environment.
