Power Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Engineer to join our team. As a Power Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing advanced power electronic systems, including DC-DC converters, AC-DC rectifiers, inverters, and motor drives.
Key Responsibilities:- Power Electronics Design: Design and develop power electronic circuits, applying industry best practices to ensure high-efficiency, compact, and reliable power systems.
- Modelling & Simulation: Use MATLAB, Simulink, and LTspice to model and simulate power electronic systems, validating their performance and creating system-level simulations to predict behaviour under various operational conditions.
- System Integration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of power electronics into larger systems, optimizing system efficiency and stability.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest developments in power electronics, semiconductor devices, and modelling tools, applying these to improve designs and identify opportunities for performance improvements and cost reductions.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field with a focus on power electronics design and modelling.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in the design and modelling of power electronic systems, with a strong background in system-level design and circuit analysis.
- Skills: Expertise in power electronics design, with a focus on high-efficiency power converters and control systems, proficiency in using MATLAB, Simulink, and LTspice for design and performance validation, and strong analytical skills in circuit analysis and power device selection.
- Qualifications: Experience in thermal management and EMC considerations for power electronics designs, and experience working in Marine, Aerospace, or Defence industries, focusing on power electronics for high-reliability systems.
