We are seeking a skilled and experienced Nursery Chef to join our team at Bright Horizons Family Solutions. As a key member of our nursery team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious meals for our children, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook age-appropriate meals for the children, minimizing waste and following our set menus and recipes.
- Ensure all dietary requirements are met and communicated to the team.
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to internal and external standards.
- Lead cookery club sessions with the children and support with other nursery activities.
- Manage stock levels and record keeping in line with company procedure.
- Work with the nursery team and parents to promote healthy eating and child welfare.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a commercial catering environment, preferably in childcare or care home settings.
- Passion for nutrition and inspiring healthy eating.
- Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) - must be passed on day 1 in post.
- Sound knowledge of COSHH and managing dietary requirements.
- Experience of EHO interaction during Food Safety & Hygiene inspections.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
