Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Practitioner Psychologist to join our Stoke Community Drug and Alcohol service. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality recovery care to individuals affected by substance use and mental health issues.

Your primary responsibility will be to assess and treat clients with complex psychological needs, including those with a history of trauma. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans, ensuring that each client receives personalized support and care.

To be successful in this role, you will require a strong background in clinical psychology, with a focus on substance use and mental health. You must be registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist and have a minimum of one year's experience working in a similar capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and treat clients with complex psychological needs, including those with a history of trauma
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Provide high-quality psychological interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and other evidence-based approaches
  • Work closely with colleagues and other professionals to ensure seamless care and support for clients
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Postgraduate Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology, or equivalent
  • Registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • Minimum of one year's experience working in a similar capacity
  • Strong background in clinical psychology, with a focus on substance use and mental health
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
