AG Barr: Production Planner Role

We are seeking a talented Production Planner to join our team at AG Barr. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and delivering weekly production schedules, ensuring optimal efficiency and resource allocation. You will also be involved in updating material usage records and coordinating Just-In-Time (JIT) orders.

Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with senior production planners to develop and refine the weekly production plan.
  2. Utilize our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to accurately assign raw materials to each product batch.
  3. Manage inventory levels by placing and tracking orders for raw ingredients and materials.
  4. Participate in daily meetings to ensure seamless communication and provide administrative support as needed.
  5. Process delivery requests from suppliers while working closely with the Goods In team.
  6. Update site work order packs to reflect accurate information via Bill of Materials (BOM) updates.
  7. Cultivate a Continuous Improvement environment by working closely with the senior production planner.
  8. Liaise with suppliers to create call-off schedules for the following week, supporting that week's production.
  9. Maintain high levels of communication within the Supply Planning team and drive process alignment.
  10. Contribute to achieving and reporting on team KPIs.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in FMCG or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
  • A keen willingness to learn and grow within the role.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (JDE/Orchestr8/SAP/BPCS) would be beneficial, although training will be provided.
  • Attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
