About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our busy and dedicated admin team within the Vascular Surgery department at Peterborough City Hospital.

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Senior Medical Secretary and clinical team, ensuring the provision of an effective, efficient, and professional service for our patients.

Main Responsibilities

The post holder will be expected to perform a high level of secretarial and administration tasks within the service, working efficiently with a high degree of accuracy and flexibility.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing administrative support to the Senior Medical Secretary and clinical team
  • Managing patient pathways in accordance with National targets
  • Communicating effectively with patients, speciality teams, and other departments
  • Working independently and as part of a team to achieve deadlines

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of using MS Office, particularly MS Word and Outlook
  • Previous secretarial/office experience
  • Experience of working with the general public and/or professionals

Desirable Skills

Desirable skills include:

  • Experience of working within the NHS and an understanding of medical terminology
  • Experience of using Hospital systems, for example PAS (Patient Administration System)
