Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Early Years Teaching Assistant to support our youngest learners in their educational journey.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Early Years team to assist in creating a safe, engaging, and enriching learning environment that promotes the development and well-being of every child.
Main Responsibilities
Support the planning and delivery of engaging activities that meet the diverse needs of Early Years children.
Work with small groups and individuals, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Assist with the personal, social, and emotional development of children, promoting resilience and independence.
Build strong, supportive relationships with children, understanding behavior as a form of communication.
Provide help with practical aspects of classroom management, including setting up resources, tidying, and ensuring health, safety, and welfare standards.
Collaborate with teachers and the wider support team, including pastoral and attendance staff, to ensure each child receives holistic support.
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and contribute to assessments as required.
Uphold the school's trauma-informed and relational behavior approach, and be able to respond to children calmly, empathetically, and positively with consistency.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children, patience, and an understanding of early childhood development.
Experience in a similar role or setting is beneficial but not essential; what matters most is your dedication to the well-being and development of our children.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Enthusiastic and passionate about working with children and supporting their learning.
A relevant qualification (such as a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education, Childcare, or equivalent).
A good general standard of education including GCSE English and Maths to Grade C or equivalent.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with children, colleagues, and parents.
Understanding of trauma-informed and relational approaches, or willingness to learn and embrace our school's ethos.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is essential.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and supportive school culture.
