Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Plant Performance Engineer to join our Energy Transition (UK) department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering solutions on a range of projects in the power generation and energy transition sectors.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Plant modelling for inclusion in feasibility studies, conceptual / detail designs and contributions to associated reports.
  • Preparation of technical specifications and schedules for inclusion in tender enquiry documents, including plant performance guarantees and evaluation criteria.
  • Technical evaluation and clarification of tenders.
  • Reviewing contractors' design submissions in accordance with contract specifications, applicable standards, regulations and codes of practice.
  • Assessing power plant performance, reviewing performance test procedures, witnessing plant performance tests/reports, and producing independent test reports.
  • Preparing contributions for Ramboll responses to expressions of interest, registrations, pre-qualifications and proposals.
  • Working closely with the assigned Project Manager to ensure that deliverable quality, cost and deadlines are met.
  • Discussions with clients, tenderers, contractors, manufacturers, and lending agencies.
  • Collaborating within Ramboll across business units, nationally and across geographies to share technical knowledge, lessons learnt and for staff development opportunities.
  • Encouraging new ideas and initiatives that improve how we deliver our services and carry out our in-house functions.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience on power generation projects.
  • Experience using engineering software packages, in particular GT Pro, Themoflow and PEACE.
  • Excellent English language communication skills and high IT literacy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients, colleagues, strategic partners and sub-consultants to provide high quality consultancy advice.
