Job Description

Kier Group has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Site Manager to join our North East team, aligned with a large, new build healthcare project in the region.

Location: North East

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Job Summary:

As a Senior Site Manager, you will play a key role in delivering external elements, including roofing, plant rooms, and external cladding packages, on a flagship healthcare project. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe delivery of construction works in line with Kier Group's quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and direct subcontractor partners to deliver a large section of external works.
  • Inspect work carried out by subcontractors to assess delivery in line with the programme, design drawings, and quality standards.
  • Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements from subcontractors to ensure working methods outlined are safe and appropriate.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and site inductions to ensure full compliance with Kier Group's standards.
  • Coordinate site logistics, movement of plant and labor, from and around the site, ensuring safety is maintained.
  • Report any issues or programme slippages to the site/project manager.
  • Prepare, log, and file site reports and paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the wider project team to find solutions to any challenges.

Requirements:

  • Relevant construction qualification, such as HND/ Degree, trades accreditation, or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in delivering large build projects within the main contracting environment.
  • Sound technical knowledge of external work packages.
  • Track record of ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Holding SMSTS 5 Day Cert, CSCS Card, and First Aid cert.
