Job Summary

Bosworth Medical Centre is seeking a skilled Healthcare Assistant to provide clinical support to our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing and administrative staff.

Main Responsibilities

  • Undertake new patient health checks and support the Practice Nurse with health promotion programs
  • Carry out baseline observations, wound care, and other clinical tasks as required
  • Support the Practice Nurse with the management of chronic disease clinics and provide opportunistic health promotion
  • Act as a chaperone and undertake venepuncture, administer flu vaccinations, and carry out ECGs as requested
  • Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation and maintain clinical rooms and waste disposal in accordance with our IPC policy

Person Specification

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Clear polite telephone manner and effective time management
  • Ability to work as a team and autonomously, with good interpersonal skills and the ability to follow clinical policy and procedure
  • Desirable: experience of working in a healthcare setting, with clinical IT systems user skills and a Healthcare qualification (level 3 or 4) or working towards gaining equivalent level
