Job Summary

We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our team in Birmingham, UK. This role will focus on strategic sourcing activity within the Technology infrastructure category.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Develop multi-year global strategies that support the delivery of our commercial and operational objectives through effective category management techniques.
  2. Support the creation and execution of procurement strategies, focusing on key initiatives and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  3. Implement best practices in procurement, commercial and vendor management to drive efficiency and cost savings.
  4. Partner with business and functional leadership to understand short, medium and long-term third-party requirements, including demand management and supply side initiatives.
  5. Manage relationships and escalations with strategic vendors, ensuring alignment with our ESG commitments.
  6. Ensure compliance with our Third Party Risk and Control Framework and associated programs.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or post-graduation; relevant professional qualifications are an asset.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in strategic sourcing and category management, preferably in indirect spend, particularly in technology infrastructure sourcing.
  • Strong technical, strategic and project management skills, as well as a foundation in supply chain management, sourcing and procurement, vendor management, legal and contracting, and operational risk management.
  • Functional expertise in strategic procurement and category management approach.
  • Strategic mindset, able to create category strategies, influence stakeholders and articulate the procurement value proposition.
  • Technical skills, including attention to detail, initiative to broaden knowledge and financial/analytical skills.
  • Drive and motivation, successfully handling multiple tasks, operating at pace and persisting in the face of obstacles.
  • Client and business focus, with strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to manage expectations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in negotiating complex contracts, including incentivized service level agreements.
  • Excellent client management skills and experience leading projects involving various stakeholders.
  • Track record of being a team player, collaborating with others and contributing to shared goals.
  • Proven communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, with impeccable attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong executive-level communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software and experience with sourcing procure-to-pay tools.
Estimated Salary:

£80,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
