Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Public Health Nurse to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a Public Health Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing professional nursing care to patients in clinics, homes, and schools, as well as other community or congregate care settings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide independent nursing care to patients, including assessments, lab tests, and medication administration.
- Develop and implement care plans, including case management and public health emergency response.
- Participate in community health assessments and public health emergencies.
- Supervise support staff and provide guidance and training as needed.
- Collaborate with other health department agencies and community partners to support public health initiatives.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Virginia or a compact state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to function independently, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of public health concepts, principles of public health nursing, and epidemiology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a public health setting or related to disease prevention and health promotion.
- Additional study in health promotion or public health.
