The role involves managing the QA team to ensure product quality, legality, and safety while meeting customer specifications in a fast-paced environment. You'll collaborate with production, engineering, and other functions to ensure procedures are in place and adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage QA's effectively, including performance assessments and continuous development.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and other functions to ensure procedures are in place and adhered to.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed by the Technical Team and non-conformances are identified and actioned.
  • Liaise with production to deliver products that meet customer specifications.
  • Investigate customer complaints and ensure findings and action plans are completed and communicated.
  • Manage external service providers, such as pest control and laboratory services.
  • Work closely with HR to ensure disciplinary, grievance, and absence procedures are followed.

Requirements:

  • Relevant scientific or food-related qualifications (Degree desirable).
  • Practical working knowledge of BRCGS and retailer requirements.
  • Experience working with major retailers, including leading audits.
  • HACCP and Food Safety qualifications.
  • Internal auditing training.
  • Basic understanding of microbiology and potential consequences to food safety and quality.
