About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Telehandler to join our team at Vistry Devon South West in Bideford, Devon. As a Telehandler, you will be responsible for safely operating a forklift truck to unload, store, and distribute materials on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure site safety and security by adhering to health and safety requirements and reporting any breaches or defects.
  • Inspect and maintain the forklift truck daily, ensuring all necessary records are complete and the Site Manager is informed of any issues.
  • Erect and maintain site safety signage, monitor traffic and pedestrian segregation, and report any deficiencies.
  • Secure hazards each evening and provide basic first aid if required.
  • Minimise loss or damage to materials, report any damage or loss to the Site Manager, and check and receive material deliveries in accordance with site requirements.
  • Maintain site presentation, including tidiness and organisation of storage areas, and ensure compliance with the housekeeping policy.
  • Distribute tipping skips to working areas and collect when full, and ensure building areas, dwellings, and boundary areas are secure.
  • Open and close the site each day and provide cover for the Site Manager as required.

Requirements

  • Trained Plant Operator CPCS Card – Telescopic Handler – All sizes Exec 360 Slew – Category A17 Endorsement C
  • Resourceful and capable of using own initiative, with excellent time keeping and attendance record.
  • Able to work effectively and safely under pressure, with a customer-focused approach and ability to multitask.
  • A commitment to work as required to meet the needs of the business, with a willingness to attend site out of hours to deal with emergency situations.
  • Able to travel to different sites on a regular basis.
