We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Mental Health Act Administrator to join our team at Elysium Healthcare. As a Mental Health Act Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Mental Health Tribunal process.
Key Responsibilities- Organize and coordinate First Tier Tribunals Section Renewal and Hospital Manager Appeal meetings for service users, preparing and arranging necessary paperwork.
- Process hearings for Mental Health Tribunals and Hospital Managers Reviews, notifying all parties, obtaining reports, negotiating hearing dates and venue, and providing and processing documentation in line with MHA Code of Practice and procedures.
- Attend Managers Review Hearings in the capacity of the MHA Administrator/Clerk, ensuring the review satisfies the fundamental legal requirements of fairness, reasonableness, and lawfulness.
- Follow up MHA action points included in the Care Quality Commission reports submitted following visits to clinical areas.
- Liaise with consultants and nursing teams to update service users' information regarding renewal of sections and consent to treatments.
- Provide information to service users about their access to Independent Mental Health Advocacy Services (IMHA).
- Confidence to liaise and give advice to a wide range of people from different professions.
- Experience within a similar role.
- Knowledge of the relevant legislation and current case law relating to the Act.
