About the Role

The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants, with the Army Top Level Budget employing around 7,000 MOD Civil Servants. We are seeking an Educational Psychologist to join our Defence Children Services (DCS) Headquarters team.

The successful candidate will work within the SEND/EPSL Team, supporting the two DCS Senior Educational Psychologists based in Upavon. This role involves delivering psychology of organisational and systems change to support and mitigate challenges in mobility and deployment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Leading and coordinating key strategy areas according to service priorities.
  • Working in partnership with other children's services providers in the military community.
  • Providing high-quality reports and records of psychological advice and analysis.
  • Supporting pupils, staff, or parents through critical incidents.

Key Requirements

  • Specialist knowledge/experience/interest in a particular area of professional work.
  • Successful involvement in projects as an EP in a Local Authority or similar organisation.
  • Previous successful experience in supporting children, families, and staff at times of critical incidents.
  • Able to provide evidence of recent direct personal experience working with individual children/young people with a range of special educational needs.
