Job Title: AML & Compliance Risk Officer

McKinlay Law is seeking a highly skilled AML & Compliance Risk Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Business Management Team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance across the firm with SRA regulations and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Management: Ensure firm-wide compliance with SRA regulations and the SRA Handbook.
  • AML Policy Development: Develop and maintain AML policies and procedures.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Liaise with the SRA and other regulatory bodies as applicable.
  • Client Due Diligence: Perform client due diligence and enhanced due diligence checks.
  • Compliance Documentation: Create and maintain compliance documentation and reports.
  • Risk Management: Develop and implement risk management and compliance strategies.
  • Internal Audits: Conduct risk assessments and internal audits as required.
  • Complaints Management: Manage the firm's complaints process.
  • Training and Development: Provide training related matters and advise management on risk mitigation strategies.

Requirements:

We are looking for a candidate with a solid background and experience in legal compliance and AML from another London law firm, as well as in-depth knowledge of SRA regulations and legal sector money laundering risks. Excellent leadership and communication skills are essential for this role, as you will be liaising with senior management on a daily basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance officer/executive who is looking to take on more responsibility in a top firm with some management duties.
