We are seeking a skilled Academic Skills Coach to join our team at Total Training Provision. As an Academic Skills Coach, you will be responsible for teaching and supporting learners in achieving their Functional Skills qualifications.

Job Description
  • Engage with a caseload of apprenticeship learners who require specialized support in English and maths, ensuring timely completion of Functional Skills qualifications.
  • Conduct initial interviews to assess learners' skills, work experience, interests, and job goals.
  • Deliver progressive teaching, learning, and assessment visits using coaching techniques to drive sustained changes in learners' Maths and English knowledge and skills.
  • Produce and deliver individual and group exercises to achieve Individual Training Plans.
  • Ensure Functional Skills delivery aligns with a detailed curriculum approach for each qualification, motivating and encouraging learners to achieve their Functional Skills at the relevant level.
  • Manage your own diary to ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant assessing and teaching qualifications.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with learners, managers, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Experience working with e-portfolio systems/learner management systems.
  • Strong IT skills and confidence in using a range of IT tools.
  • Effective time management and prioritization.
