We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations in our clients chilled warehouse located in Spalding. The ideal candidate will be confident in managing a diverse team, possess a valid PPT licence, and have a proven track record of running efficient and productive shifts.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage warehouse staff during 12-hour shifts (6am-6pm), maintaining operational flow and productivity in line with business targets.
- Supervise a diverse, cross-generational workforce, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and motivation across the team.
- Confidently operate and oversee the use of Powered Pallet Trucks (PPT) in daily warehouse tasks.
- Ensure the accurate and timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, while maintaining stock integrity and meeting customer delivery expectations.
- Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety regulations, conducting regular checks, and addressing any risks or hazards promptly.
- Track and report on KPIs, ensuring that all team members meet their individual and collective targets.
- Quickly and effectively address any operational issues or breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to shift activities.
- Provide coaching, support, and training to team members, identifying development needs and encouraging a positive work culture.
- Act as the key point of contact between warehouse operatives and senior management, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or in a similar leadership role.
- Valid PPT Licence and strong experience in operating pallet trucks.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a cross-generational team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, including stock control and health & safety regulations.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems efficiently.
- Competency with warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous.
- Working in a chilled environment (cold storage).
- 12-hour shifts, 4 days on, 4 days off (6am to 6pm).
- Physical role requiring manual handling and the use of warehouse equipment.
