About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Room Leader to join our team in the Babies Room at our client's leading private day nursery in Horsforth, Leeds.

About Our Client

Our client is a unique nursery that provides an exceptional learning environment for children aged 3 months to 5 years. They believe in the power of outdoor play and nature, and their curriculum is inspired by Scandinavian Forest School philosophies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Room Leader in planning and delivering a high-quality curriculum aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Take the lead of the Babies Room in the Room Leader's absence.
  • Provide sensitive care and support to babies, including nappy changing, feeding, and sleep routines.
  • Plan and deliver engaging activities that promote physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Observe and assess babies' progress, documenting their development and maintaining accurate records.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child's progress.
  • Supervise and support other Early Years Educators in the room.
  • Contribute to the overall health and safety of the room environment.

Requirements

  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working with babies and young children.
  • Strong understanding of child development in the early years.
  • Proven leadership potential and ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Patient, nurturing, and sensitive individual with a calm and positive demeanor.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and remain calm under pressure.
  • Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
