Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to join our team at Labman Automation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering turnkey projects of up to £3m to our clients worldwide.

You will successfully manage teams of like-minded engineers to ensure projects are delivered to an exceptional standard, on budget and on time. The projects are varied and at times challenging, but you will have the support and input from an experienced Labman team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with customers to understand initial requirements and develop initial proposals and costings
  • Maintaining a strong focus on priorities, holding others to account and swiftly responding to changing requirements
  • Acting as a role model by bringing positivity and a proactive approach to engineering
  • Actively promoting knowledge and resource sharing with peers and others within the business
  • Organising projects by identifying short-term and long-range issues; preparing and maintaining project plans, cost estimates, and required resources
  • Working collaboratively with customers to manage, monitor and deliver against commitments
  • Developing robust business cases, with fully costed options identifying clear policy/technical advantages and/or returns on investment to assist decision making

The role is based in our North Yorkshire office but will require international travel from time to time.

Essential Capabilities

We are looking for someone with:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, electrical or software)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience within project management
  • Proven history of delivering projects successfully through the full life cycle on time, within budget and scope
  • Experience in developing detailed project plans and organising resource availability and allocation
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering & design environment
  • A passion for understanding and solving complex engineering problems in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate a team and demonstrate strong influencing skills
