Main Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Paediatric Respiratory Physiotherapist to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work in the provision of a patient-centred In-patient, out-patient and community service.

Key duties will include working as an integral part of the Paediatric Physiotherapy and Sleep & Ventilation team, providing education and training to families, carers and the multidisciplinary team, and supervising junior physiotherapy staff.

The post-holder will also have the opportunity to further develop their acute skills by working within the paediatric respiratory in-patient Physiotherapy team, supporting children with a wide range of cardiorespiratory conditions.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside some of the top cardio-respiratory specialist healthcare practitioners in the UK and Europe. As a member of the multi-disciplinary team, you will work in acute care and community settings, contributing to the maintenance and development of the service provided.

You will work closely within the Paediatric Respiratory Physiotherapy team and contribute to the development of the service, with particular focus on Sleep and Ventilation. You will also work closely with the wider Paediatric multidisciplinary team at the Royal Brompton Hospital and Evelina Hospital sites.

Requirements
  • Equivalent or equal to a degree in Physiotherapy
  • Health and Care Professional council registration
  • Relevant validated clinical courses accredited as equivalent to masters level
  • Member of CSP
  • Member of ACPRC or Member of ACPC
  • Member of another special interest group relating to respiratory care
Experience
  • Significant cardiorespiratory/cardiothoracic experience
  • Significant acute paediatric respiratory experience
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Understanding of cardiorespiratory physiology and pathophysiology specific to post
  • Significant previous practical experience managing children with neuromuscular disease
  • Relevant clinical courses in paediatric respiratory care
Skills
